Start from the service, not a brand name
Use Find Care or the category lists for doctors, hospitals and clinics, laboratories, and pharmacies. Filter by the area you can actually travel to. A listing in another neighbourhood is not useful if you cannot reach it during working hours.
Read the provider type on the card. A clinic, a hospital, a laboratory, and a pharmacy do different work. Bharat Swasthya Setu does not turn one into the other.
What a useful listing should show
Prefer a page that shows a name, an area or address, and a phone number you can call. If opening hours are shown, they are the booking window stored for that clinic. Confirm them before you travel, because a stored window can be a default until the clinic updates it.
- Name and locality you recognise
- A direct phone number
- The service you need (consultation, sample collection, medicine)
- Whether online token or appointment booking is offered on that page
Listed and approved are not the same as a medical certificate
A public profile means the record is on this platform. An “Approved listing” badge means an administrator of Bharat Swasthya Setu allowed that label. It is not a Government of India licence, a medical-council certificate, or a promise about the quality of care.
If you are choosing a doctor, ask the clinic for the doctor’s registration council and registration number, then check that number on the National Medical Commission website or the relevant state medical council. This website does not display degrees or registration numbers unless they are stored on the record, and clinic doctor pages currently do not store them.
Laboratories
Before you give a sample, ask the laboratory which test was requested, whether you need to fast, what the report will cost, and when the report will be ready. Those answers come from the laboratory, not from this website.
Bring the referring slip or the doctor’s written request if you have one. Keep a copy of the report for yourself.
